After my hubby and I spent a recent week away on our anniversary trip, our family really needed some time together. Nothing says family togetherness like a family
game night. We decided to break out the classics for our fun evening. Classic Monopoly, HASBRO® Jenga, and of course a HUGE bag of Milk Chocolate M&M's®!
My kids requested my candy toffee bark, but I decided it was time to try a new spin on my classic recipe. This new version uses pretzels instead of saltine crackers and white instead of milk chocolate chips. I now have a new favorite bark recipe!!
M&M Pretzel Toffee Bark
mini pretzel twists
2 sticks (1 cup) of butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 bag of white chocolate chips
M&M's
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Spray a jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with little lip around the edge) with cooking spray. I find using a baking liner much easier! Arrange pretzels in a single later to cover the bottom of the sheet.
In a medium saucepan melt butter and then add the brown sugar over medium high heat. Stir constantly and let it boil for 3 minutes to form toffee.
Carefully pour the toffee mixture over the pretzels and spread around with spatula. Place in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the white chips on top. Let it set for 2-3 minutes until all the chips are glossy. Spread the melted chips evenly across the toffee and pretzels. Sprinkle with M&M's.
Place in refrigerator to cool and harden. Break part into pieces before serving.
Our game night included a Jenga tournament followed by some Monopoly. The final challenge between my hubby and son was very heated.
They went back and forth with lots of bragging about who was going to win.
My timing with the camera was perfect and I captured the results. My son was the victor!
The Jenga tournament was following by a fun game of Monopoly where I was the first go to bankrupt. We had such a good time together that we are going to do bi-weekly Family Game Night.
