This is how our family is saving this summer on unlimited talk text and data/web.
We are busy this summer. VERY busy!! Normally summers are very laid back at our house. We sleep in, plan play dates, go to the pool, and just kick back. Our only regular activities are a week of swim lessons for my daughter and band activities for my son. This summer is COMPLETELY different and I am worn out! Both my kids are on swim team, but due to age difference they work out at different times each day. Swim meets are on Saturday mornings.
My daughter also has 2 different ballet classes, a drama class twice a week, and guitar practice twice a week. She has a guitar concert this weekend, a play in July, and will be performing in ballet at the state fair and 2 local festivals in August. My son is working as a lifeguard and has drumline practice twice a week. He will be marching in the Independence Day parade, going on a youth trip to Detroit, and has band camp, all in July. Our usually blank summer calendar is stuffed full of kid activities this year.
This summer is also very expensive! None of those activities are free. I sat down the other day and added up all the fees and expenses associated with all those activities and I came up with over $1700. YIKES!! That is one expensive summer!! That doesn't even account for all the gas it takes to drive them back and forth to the pool, ballet studio, and other activities. We've had to cut back on other expenses to be able to afford these activities.
One of our biggest savings is with our smartphones. We use

I got the ZTE ZMAX Smartphone. It boasts a 5.7" HD touchscreen and an 8-megapixel camera. It has a bunch of other features that my guys are impressed with, but all that matters to me is the large screen and good camera that I use for shots of the kids performing.
Walmart Family Mobile is as easy as 1-2-3! Visit your local Walmart or shop online. Just pick out a phone, grab a starter kit, and then activate. A wireless specialist can assist you in-store, or you can activate online. We've done both with no problems. How are you affording your summer plans?
